Eyelash Extension Aftercare
After application of eyelash extensions, please wait at least 4 hours before any water contact to your eye area. To keep your lashes looking lush and beautiful for as long as possible, please follow these instructions.
Do not:
- Steam face, use steam bath/sauna, or swim within the first 2 days after application.
- Perm/tint the extensions.
- Use an eyelash curler.
- Rub, pick, pull out, or play with extensions.
- Use any cream, oil-based, or lotion products on extensions.
- Get close to heated applications such as: ovens and hair dryers.
Do:
- Use oil-free make-up remover (when doing so, please use cotton swabs to carefully clean around the eye area).
- Separate/comb lashes from middle to tip.
- Wear goggles for swimming and sauna use.
- Use contact lens solution and eye drops if needed (they will not harm your extensions).
- Rinse your lashes at least every other day, because lashes need to water to live.
For TV, photos, and special events:
- Apply eyeliner above and away from roots of your extensions.
- Apply only non-waterproof mascara to the tips.
Your new set of eyelashes should last 2-3 weeks. As your eyelashes shed naturally, the extensions will also shed (the extensions are attached individually to your own lash. On average, our clients get touch-ups every 2 weeks.
Eyelash Lift Aftercare and FAQ
After Care
- Avoid heat the day of Lift (sauna, facial, hot shower, working out, etc.).
- Do not apply any oils such as, baby oil, coconut oil, etc., during the length of the lift.
- No makeup remover wipes.
- Use mild non-oily cleanser daily, no eye makeup remover.
- Do not use waterproof mascara instead we recommend regular or gel (clear) mascara daily, it helps to prolong the Lift.
FAQ
Can I wear mascara or eye makeup prior to my appointment?
No. Please remove all eye makeup before coming in.
Can I wear contact lenses during lift?
No. Please remove before coming in.
Can I wear mascara after Lash Lift?
Yes, however we do NOT recommend waterproof mascara and the use of makeup remover, they tend to weaken the lift.
What should I use for cleaning my face after lift?
Use mild gel cleanser. Do not use eye makeup remover.
How long will the Lash Lift appointment take?
About 60 minutes depends on how long and coarse the eyelashes are.
How long will the curl last?
6 – 8 weeks.
Can I use my eyelash curler?
You do not need it. Eyelash curlers break off the lashes, so we don’t recommend it.
Will I lose any of my lashes because of the lift?
No. However it is perfectly normal to lose one or two eyelashes daily, it happens to all of us. New eyelashes will grow in place of old ones.
Does the Lash Lift hurt?
No, however you may experience a little discomfort.
Will I have skin irritation?
It’s very rare for someone to have a reaction, but a little redness is normal and will go away after a couple hours.
Can I wash my face after lift?
Yes, but not the eyes.
Can I use growth serums after lift?
Yes you can and we recommend you do! Just wait 3 days after lift to start/continue.
Eyelash Pre-Treatment and General Care
Pre-Treatment procedures
- Eyelash Extensions need to be removed at least 3 days to 1 week prior to appointment.
- For best results do not use waterproof mascara or curl your lashes 3 days prior to your appointment.
- No eye makeup on the day of your appointment. For example, mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, etc.
- Remove any eye makeup with oil-free makeup remover the prior.
- It’s recommended to wash your hair prior to your appointment because you won’t able to for 48 hours after your treatment.
After Care for the first 48 hours
- No water or mascara in 24 hours
- No steam, heavy exercising, activities that would cause excessive sweating, at home hair washing for 48 hours
- No lash serums, lash extensions, or eye creams for 48 hours
- Do not use Oil-based eye products, cream & Waterproof Mascara
- Do not Perm, Tint or use an Eyelash Curler
- Remove makeup around the eye with cotton swab
- Recommend sleeping on your side or back. Not on your face
- Be careful to avoid Pulling extensions or Rubbing Eyes
- To extend the life of your lashes. Please schedule touch-ups 2 to 3 weeks
General care
For The best result, be sure to wash your lashes in the morning and evening with Eyelash Foaming Cleanser, or after workout. This will remove any excess oil and around your lashes. Brush your lash daily with your lash styling wand. Avoiding oil-base or waterproof cosmetics and creams on and around your eyes will help with retention, keeping your new look at its best and make them last longer.
